Ishaan Mokashi’s Eagle Project

Categories: Eagle Project.

This Eagle Project was for the USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum, a nonprofit organization located in Alameda, California, dedicated to preserving naval history and educating the public through its historic aircraft carrier. The project focused mainly on updating and improving safety barriers throughout the ship. On the first day, volunteers worked on mapping out the designated areas and precisely measuring the existing safety chains. Day two involved using the data collected on the first day to measure, cut, and assemble new plastic chains. Finally, on the third day, the group used the newly built chains to replace the worn-out existing chains on the USS Hornet. Scouts were asked to wear closed-toe shoes, durable clothes, and Class B uniforms since the work area involved navigating the unique, industrial environment of an authentic naval vessel.
