Remarks: For the people who attended the CERT
Description: The San Ramon Valley Fire District is holding an Emergency Response training drill AND we need your support!
DATES BELOW:
Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) is a course designed to empower citizens in a disater. We need simulated VICTIMS to practice on, and would like to have your Scouts participate – with opportunities to get made-up with fake blood, impalements, broken limbs, and other boo-boos. Adults wanting to participate are also welcome.
This is a perfect opportunity for scouts taking the E-Prep merit badge to complete requirement (7) “Take part in an emergency response project, either a real one, or a practice drill, with a Scouting unit or a community agency.” It also appears to satisfy the Ready&Prepared/Emergency Preparedness BSA Award requirement for Boy Scouts: (3) “With your troop or team, including its adult leaders, participate in emergency preparedness training conducted by community emergency preparedness agencies.” Also a great way for anyone to volunteer for their community!
The CERT Training Drills will be held at: SAN RAMON VALLEY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT 1500 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon (Corner of Crow Canyon and Bollinger).
