Remarks: Flyer distribution to create move-in kits for those affected by homelessness.
Description: This event is Day 1 of my Eagle Project. My Eagle Project is oriented towards creating move-in kits to support Building Futures, an organization offering services to those affected by homelessness and domestic violence. When people are provided with housing, they typically do not have many belongings to support them in their new journey. This project aims to fill that gap by providing a move-in kit of items for each newly housed individual or group. In this event, we will be distributing flyers to multiple neighborhoods within San Ramon in groups of around 4 scouts each. We aim to reach over 700 houses in 4 hours of distributing flyers which contain an Amazon Wishlist to collect donations. Each house will be informed about the project by ringing the doorbell, communicating, and leaving the flyer on their door. To do this, we will need around 16 scouts, both younger and older scouts. We will also need 4 additional adults to drive and supervise scouts while distributing flyers. If you are an adult who would like to participate in driving scouts, please let me know how many scouts your car can fit. Lunch will be provided between the morning and afternoon session. Scouts are expected to attend for the duration of the project, however, if there is a time conflict, you may attend for the morning or afternoon session of the project. Please be in Class A uniform and be prepared to speak to individuals in the communities we distribute in, I will provide a script as the event approaches. Remember to bring both your Consent and Medical A and B forms, as well as water and a jacket.
